MUSC Longford@OT 25/26 VOL1

18/10/2025

Manchester United v Sunderland, 10/25

There was great anticipation in the run up to MUSC Longford's first trip of the season to The Theatre of Dreams!

After a stop start return to action for the 25/26 Premier League campaign, the club went into this tie chasing 3 home wins on the bounce in the league in a very long time.

With Mr. Amorim strengthening key areas over the summer it was a chance to catch our fantastic four new recruits first-hand!

Our supporters club set off earlier than usually due to yet another impending storm which turned out to be a fabulous move by the ever vigilant Nicola and Kevin.

After a pretty relaxed and smooth sailing we got to Bury just in time for breakfast, special thanks to our regular bus driver John for getting us there in great time as he does every time.

With the Luxury of an early check in our travelling members were able to get sorted and still have the whole day (and night) ahead of them, roll on Match Day!

Old Trafford, 4th October 2025 V Sunderland

There was a great buzz around the stadium before kick-off, supporters were in flying form from Hotel Football to The Trafford Bar also.

With most of our travelling members finding themselfs in fantastic seats in the Stretford End it was time to savour the action, what a place to experience The Theatre of Dreams.

A rejuvenated Mason Mount performance and a goal of sheer quality sent everyone behind the net into raptures. All in all it was a cracking first half to take in, two great goals right in front of your eyes.

New signing Benjamin Sesko hit the target and almost jumped out of the stadium, he looks a very decent buy. As Does Bryan Mbeumo who never stopped going for little over an hour.

There was a brief 25 minute cameo from the exciting Mateus Cunha but the big plus from this match was the debut from new goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who looked solid and commanding throughout. It's no surprise he got the boisterous chorus of "Are you Schmeichel, are you Schmeichel, are you Schmeichel in disguise." from the Old Trafford faithful.

Here's to a great start to the County Longford Branch's love affair with OT this season!

After an enjoyable couple of days and nights it was off home with another memorable trip and experience had by each and every travelling member.

Next up for United is a trip to the not so lovely Anfield to face Liverpool who ironically just before the international break lost 3 games on the bounce so it was the right time to get some predictions for that big showdown;

 Nicola 2-2, Damo 2-2, Padraic 2-2
Gerry 0-0, Seamus 1-1
Michael is also praying for a draw.

Derek, Kevin, Ken, John, Glenn, Podge all  1-2 United win.
Richard & Leroy going for away win too, 0-1 & 2-3 respectively.
